The Game

Mah Jong is a game of Chinese origin.  Tiles bearing various engravings and designs are drawn and discarded until one player wins with a hand of four combinations of three tiles each, and a pair of matching tiles.

Translated as The Game of the Sparrows, some of the old bamboo and ivory sets are engraved and painted and represent the pinnacle of the engraver's artistry and design.

Four people play the game of Mah Jong.  However, three people may also play by using a 'dummy' player.

In order to enjoy a game of Mah Jong, one most certainly does not have to learn to score.
